Enterprise Banking

Enterprise Banking consists of two segments: Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) and Medium Enterprises (MID) segments.

Strategy - The „Customer” pillar

We put the customer and his needs at the center of our activities, intensively develop digital channels and fast and convenient service processes. To an even greater extent, we will use advanced data analytics and modern CRM tools to support sales, which will allow us to better adjust the offer, improve the quality of service and increase the tendency to recommend our services.

In 2021, we consistently implemented the assumptions of the strategy. We have introduced a number of improvements related to the automation and digitization of loan applications and their analysis. We extended electronic banking functionalities enabling customer self-service.

Strategy - The „Growth” pillar

By focusing on the most profitable segments and groups of product, we plan to increase the share in the revenues of SME segments by 2 p.p. and 4 p.p. for the MID segment compared to the 2020.

Lending activities and customer financing

We offer our clients a wide, comprehensive range of products and services, such as bank loans, leasing, factoring, arranging issues of debt securities and other specialized forms of financing.

For the second time, we have enabled clients to submit applications for a financial subsidy under the government program, the so-called „PFR 2.0 Financial Shield”, which helps micro, small and medium-sized enterprises operating in industries most at risk of a pandemic to maintain financial liquidity. In the first quarter of 2021, entrepreneurs eligible for subsidies submitted their applications via internet banking, and in the fourth quarter of 2021 they could settle the received funds through internet banking.

In cooperation with the Polish Development Fund, we proposed a new program for financing investments in renewable energy sources. The program is dedicated to, among others local governments and entrepreneurs with lower capital commitment, whose revenues are based on market risk. Green investments for business worth PLN 1 billion are an opportunity to implement larger projects and a faster return on capital investment.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, we maintained a high dynamics of growth in the value of the loan portfolio. The value of the loan portfolio in the fourth quarter of 2021 reached the dynamics of +24.4% y/y – an increase in value by PLN 5.8 billion. The growth dynamics in the segments amounted to:

The fourth quarter of 2021 was the fifth quarter in a row in which the value of loans sold in SMEs exceeded PLN 1 billion (without renewals) – 1.4 billion new loans (in the fourth quarter of 2021). The value of loan sales in 2021 amounted to PLN 5.1 billion, an increase by +50% y/y. In the fourth quarter of 2021, the sales of loans in the medium-sized enterprise segment were also record-breaking – PLN 3.9 billion and over PLN 11 billion in 2021, which translated into almost 60% y/y growth.

Transactional banking

We consistently developed the self-service zone for enterprise clients in PekaoBiznes24 electronic banking. We have made available further processes enabling self-service, among others submitting applications in the field of account maintenance, payment cards service, cash maintenance service and PFR financial shield. As the first in Poland, we offered corporate clients a transfer by telephone number via BLIK in internet banking

We have implemented a new biometric method of remote verification of the identity of potential customer representatives „on a selfie”. This method, combined with a qualified signature (SelfieSign), enables companies to establish relationships completely remotely, regardless of their legal form.

In cooperation with Tpay, we offered our clients a new service supporting the dynamically developing e-commerce – a payment gateway for online payments.

The development of electronic access channels, acquisition and adjustment of the offer to the needs of our clients had a positive impact on the number and volume of transactions – the volume of outgoing transfers increased by +18% y/y in the MID segment and +20% y/y in the SME segment. In the area of treasury transactions, we recorded record results, increasing the turnover on current currency exchange transactions by 31% y/y, and on transactions hedging foreign exchange risk by 32% y/y.

Customer acquisition

In in the fourth quarter of 2021, we maintained high level of acquisition and acquired 1,015 clients, this result was better by 45% compared to fourth quarter of 2020. Since of the beginning of 2021, we have acquired 4.1 thousand customers, achieving a 54% increase in acquisition in the SME segment and a 47% increase in the MID segment
